Wood Chopping has been a popular spectator sport at major Australian Royal shows for decades. With a small group of participants, the axe men travel the ‘show circuit’ for relatively small amounts of prize money, but mainly for the love of their sport.

The fast moving action, close finishes, visual appeal and the sport’s characters has provided an ideal spectacle for a television series. The sport is now moving out of its traditional genre and creating some entertaining television.
